Dreams have always held a significant place in the spiritual narrative of the Bible. They can be mediums of divine revelation, as seen in Joseph’s life in Genesis, or they can be distressing experiences stemming from spiritual battles, as noted in the book of Daniel. The Bible acknowledges both the positive and negative impacts that dreams can have on our lives. Prayer against evil dreams, based on the power of the blood of Jesus, is focused on commanding evil dreams to cease. In the spiritual realm, the blood of Jesus is a powerful symbol of protection, deliverance, and victory over evil. Revelations 12:11 states, “They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.”
Evil dreams can often be manifestations of spiritual attacks or turmoil. They can induce fear, anxiety, and confusion, impacting our daily lives and spiritual well-being. Prayer against evil dreamsis an act of spiritual warfare, using the authority given to us in Christ to rebuke and nullify the effects of such dreams. It’s reminiscent of the assurance given in 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” Through this prayer, we assert our position in Christ and the victory that His blood assures us over any form of spiritual darkness that invades our rest and peace.
Prayer against evil dreams is not just about negating the impact of evil dreams but also about inviting the peace and protection of God into our subconscious. It is in line with Philippians 4:7, which promises, “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” As we command evil dreams to cease, we also seek the peace of God to envelop our minds, both in wakefulness and sleep.
Therefore, as we engage in this prayer, let’s do so with faith in the power of Jesus’ blood to protect and deliver. Let’s remember that in Christ, we have the authority to rebuke the forces of darkness and to invite God’s peace and protection into every area of our lives, including our dreams.

Thank you for this article. I have had a mix of bad or disturbing dreams or not remembering me dreams at all. The bad dreams would come and go, I’ve been praying for the Lord to stop them but after some time I would have another and it would torture me to the point of shame, thinking maybe there’s some sin I’m unaware of that I’ve been committing that is causing these dreams to reoccur. I find some relieve when I don’t remember my dreams at all but I’e been told that this could be the enemy blocking my dreams from God and that I must pray against this as well. I hope that the notes from here will help me to get completely free from these nightmares. Amen
